AlexRenew Celebrates 2025 Open House

With sold-out tours and family friendly STEM activities, AlexRenew's first Open House in more than a decade was a success.

Last Saturday AlexRenew hosted our first Open House in more than a decade. Throughout the day we outfitted over 100 people in hard hats and safety vests so they could take a tour, learning from long-time employees about what it takes to run a wastewater treatment plant. Meanwhile, staff organized a scavenger hunt, laboratory demonstrations, and other science activities for families to explore. Representatives from Alexandria Soccer Association and Virginia American Water along with snacks from Haute Dogs and Flame & Cones food trucks rounded out the event. AlexRenew is proud to showcase the critical work we do every day, and we look forward to strengthening our community connections in the future.
