Alexandria's Water System Partners Host 3rd Annual Water Discovery Day on Saturday, September 14

Mark your calendar for Alexandria's 3rd Annual Water Discovery Day, hosted by Alexandria’s three water system partners – Alexandria Renew Enterprises (AlexRenew), Virginia American Water and the City of Alexandria. Water Discovery Day is AlexRenew's annual community event that inspires water champions and educates all ages about the value of water. Join us for a day of family-focused community fun, including STEM activities, sports, crafts, music, food, and more! Drop by to get to know your H2O and meet Alexandria’s water transformers. Learn how Alexandria's water system works while you explore, learn, and create!

Water Discovery Day is free to attend and will include activities for all ages! The event will be held rain or shine.

Event Details

Who: AlexRenew, Virginia American Water, and the City of Alexandria

What: Water Discovery Day 2019:

When: Saturday, September 14, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: Four Mile Run Park, 3700 Commonwealth Ave., near the park entrance next to Cora Kelly School for Math and Science.  

Some of the activities at Water Discovery Day will include:

  • Tours of AlexRenew’s Four Mile Run Pump Station and its educational fence
  • “Touch a Truck” with the Alexandria Fire Department (11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. only)
  • Sewer Art Gallery
  • “Make Your Own Slime”
  • Pet Adoption
