AlexRenew CEO passes the torch to new NACWA president

Alexandria Renew Enterprises’ Chief Executive Officer Karen Pallansch recently transitioned from her position as president of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), and will be succeeded by the City of LA Bureau of Sanitation Assistant Director and NACWA former Vice President, Adel H.Hagekhalil. The role of NACWA president is a one-year elected position and Karen served as NACWA’s President for 2014-2015, a very successful and important year, according to the association.

The announcement was made on (July 14), at the closing ceremony of the 2015 Utility Leadership Conference & 45th Anniversary Celebration in Providence, Rhode Island.   

During his first address, at the "pass the torch" ceremony, Mr. Hagekhalil thanked NACWA’s outgoing President and AlexRenew CEO, saying, "Karen led the organization ably during tough and challenging times. Thanks to her leadership and hard work, we have a stable financial outlook and a smooth leadership transition. Thank you, Karen."

The announcement marked an important milestone for the Agency, as it celebrates its 45th Anniversary.
